WordPress Plugins: Duplicate Posts and Landing Pages
Let’s talk about two unrelated plugins that are slightly related, the duplicate post plugin and a plugin to make great landing pages.
The first plugin for today is called Duplicate Post. This is a very simple plugin, after it’s activated you simply go to your all posts or all pages tab and hover over any post you would like to duplicate, you will see the word “Clone” click that and automatically everything about the page will copy over into a new one.
Why is this useful? Let’s say you design a page with special charts and a special layout, as opposed to having to do that all again, you can just copy the page, the layout will all be there and you can start editing the new page right away.
This leads right into the last plugin we will be talking about.
Many companies want to design landing page for their eBooks, raffles, contests, etc. and they usually turn to 3rd party sites like Unbounce to build a landing page. Sites like these are incredibly useful, but can be costly. A company I worked with still pays $100 a month to use Unbounce because of their large amount of traffic. In addition, any page designed on Unbounce isn’t actually on the domain of the site, you need to setup a CNAME to in order to connect the landing page with your site. Imagine if there was a way to design beautiful landing pages for cheap and having them sit on your site. Well there is (I assume you were expecting that…), it’s called Visual Composer. It is true that it isn’t free, but it’s only $34! (My theme gave it for free with the purchase of the theme.) It allows you to choose a layout for any page, easily decide where images, text, video, forms, and graphics will be placed on the page, and doesn’t require any code! It will take you a few minutes to get used to how it works, but once you learn it it will be incredibly simple for you to design fantastic landing pages that your users will enjoy, and at a cost of only $34 it’s a steal in comparison to the competition. There are literally thousands of WordPress plugins, and that is what makes WordPress truly great. Usually, when you have an idea that you want to do on your site there is most likely a plugin for it, so you don’t need to spend your time or money creating it yourself. Most other website builders allow for customization, but they just don’t have the plugin power that WordPress has, and would most likely require you to hire a programmer to get the job done, but the plugin list is so extensive on WordPress… heck, they even have a Shabbat plugin. I obviously can’t cover every single plugin, and I believe the list I gave will be great for every website. If you think I missed one, tell me and I’ll cover it in the next tip.
