Facebook allows you to use call to action buttons on ads. This feature is not available when organically posting, so it pops out when users are scrolling through their newsfeed. his button will appear on the bottom right side of the post.
For some reason people like being told what to do. There is a lot of psychology behind this, for more information check out this blog by Kissmetric. Remember a couple of years ago when every post said “like this post to save children in Africa” or “like this so that bill gates will share his wealth with you” or “like to cure cancer” etc.? All is these posts used to go viral because people liked them just because they were told. Same thing was true with shares. But Facebook noticed this and fixed the issue to prevent these things from going viral as they used to.
Now, the best way to tell people what to do is to have a big button with a call to action. I have seen some interesting results here. Sometimes the button does much better, other times no button worked better. So make sure to test, test, and test.
Do you use call to action buttons in Facebook ads? How does that work for you?
