How often should you send an email? This question needs to be answered before you start sending anything because you want to teach your customers to expect the email to come. The problem is that it depends how much content your company is creating or curating on a normal basis.
If you are creating or curating 5 pieces of content a month, then you will not have enough content for a daily email, but if you are creating 50 pieces of content on a daily basis, that is too much for a daily email.
Another question you need to answer, which is just as important is how often does your audience want to hear from you? If you are a dentist, the likelihood is that most of your customers don’t want to hear from you even on a weekly basis, but if you are a news website they probably expect to hear from you at least daily.
It is all about finding the balance between how much content you create and how much content your audience wants to see. If you find out that your audience would love to see an email from you daily, but you only send out something weekly then you are missing a huge opportunity.
Also, remember that there is nothing stopping you from having a separate daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly email list. Simply ask people how often they would like to hear from you and give them what they want, no more, no less.
