I need to bring up a very important point here before I move into the next topic, cPanels, having a safe password.
This topic has been talked about for years, and is very important when building a website. Way too many websites have passwords to their backend that are even simpler than the one for most email accounts. The main reason this happens is because most services don’t have any restrictions on password complexity.
Just imagine if every website’s login information was “admin” and “12345.” Yes, it’s as bad as it sounds, and I am sure at least one of you just got their password leaked from that…
You don’t want your website to be hacked because you were too lazy, so now is the time to make sure you’re protected. Sign up for a password management site and store and even create all of your passwords in there. This way you will have very complex passwords that cannot be guessed. I personally use Passpack, I am sure most of them are basically the same, but Passpack allows you to store 100 different passwords and can even generate a password suggestion, then any time you need to login you simply log in to Passpack and copy paste the password from there.
It is very important that you use these complex passwords for BOTH your cPanel and your WordPress backend! So go, create an account, and make sure that your website is protected.
Sorry that this isn’t 100% website related but I think this is urgently important for anyone building a website!
