When you set up your account Mailchimp asks for an address, phone number, company name, and photograph.
The reason why they ask is because of spam laws in many countries are so strict that it is legally required to have several things in your email to confirm it’s not spam.
When you fill these things out remember that they are very important because Mailchimp will take all of this information and show it in to all your subscribers.
This information can be edited per list that you create.
I just want you to understand that email marketing is not a game, and at any point if you think you are spamming people, you probably are and you need to stop! Not just because it’s annoying for them, but because it many actually illegal!
After the initial set up you need to create a list. To create a list select lists on the top menu, then click “create list.” When setting this information up keep in mind that anything you write can be seen by your subscribers, either on the actual email or on Mailchimp’s forms.
So for example, don’t make the name of your list “easy sales list” or when you fill out the “Remind people how they got on your list” don’t write “I bought this list for $5 on fiverr.”
