The next three forms (which are all really one idea) that need to be edited are overlooked by most companies. The unsubscribe form, unsubscribe success form, and the “Goodbye” email are your last chance to stop someone from leaving your email list, never to return.
Listen, if someone wants to leave let them, don’t make them hate you more than they already do (if they are actually taking time to unsubscribe as opposed to just hitting the spam button on the email.)
But, when the person is on the fence if they should really stop getting your emails this is your last chance to convince them not to leave. Put some text in the unsubscribe success form saying that you are really sad to see them go, maybe they want to change their subscription to receive less emails or a different type of email? Then in the email show them the reason they first signed up to your list, because they thought it would be awesome. Write them a convincing letter saying that you love them and hate to see them go.
Remember that the people on your list (your current customers) are a lot more important of a group than new potential customers. Never ever ever mess over your loyal customers in attempt to get new customers, that’s how you go out of business.
