There are hundreds of millions of people who use Facebook on a monthly basis. In fact, Mark Zuckerberg announced through a post and a video that on August 27th one billion people used Facebook. Yet, I have not met even one of those people that came to Facebook with the intention of buying something. Do you wake up in the morning and say “Let me check out Facebook so I can buy that new cell phone, book, barbecue, oven, car, etc.?” Facebook is slowing changing that, a few months ago they added a way of posting, exclusively to groups, called “Sell Something” that allows you to post products with prices, locations, description etc. but as of now the average person does not come with the intention of buying your product.
So even an amazing ad for an amazing product targeting the perfect target audience may not sell, because the person is not in a buying mood right now.
The power of Facebook is that your ads can take a person out of the Facebook environment, to your site, where you can slowly move them to a sale. But, you need to learn the techniques to help make people transition from browsing to buying.
