According to the data there are 1.49 billion monthly users on Facebook of which 65% claim to be daily users. Let’s assume each person is following 500 people and the average person posts 3 times a day. This means that an individual on Facebook can see up to 1,500 different posts a day.
According to Facebook the average person only sees about 300 of those posts, so Facebook has to do a lot of calculations to figure out what the best 300 are fit this person.
Do you think Facebook will show someone a link missing an image? Or a bad quality picture? Or a broken link? From this perspective the answer is obvious.
If you want to even have a chance of being seen by someone every part of your post needs to be perfect, this includes what the landing page is, because Facebook of course checks to make sure the link is working and that there is actual content on the page, which needs to match the post that it’s linked from.
Next time you want to complain about your posts not being seen remember this: Maybe it’s not worth being seen, if it isn’t make sure it is something pretty enough that you would click on it if you saw it in your news feed.
