I like to call the next audience group “magic.” Let me explain the power of Facebook. Facebook knows everything about you. Everything. They know what articles you like, and no, I don’t mean what you “like” I mean what you actually enjoy. How do they know what you enjoy? Besides Facebook knowing everything you like, comment, share, reply, viewed and click on they also know what posts you read and for how long you read it, if you spent time reading the article that you clicked on, if you went to another page on the site, etc. Facebook knows everything. For now, this knowledge is kept very secret, so someone like me can’t know the exact information they use, but what I can do is ask Facebook to find people like my people.
So Facebook will automatically find similarities between your audience and then will find what Facebook calls a lookalike audience. These people are similar to your audience (you pick if it’s a lookalike of your email list, website visitors, people who like your page, or those who already converted) and hopefully they will act similar to your current audience. This audience has amazing potential for finding new customers, so next time set up a campaign try using a lookalike audience.
To make a lookalike audience go to Audience, Create Audience, click Lookalike Audience, choose the audience you want to find a lookalike audience for, and select the country you want to target.
Now that I have explained every type of audience set on Facebook I advise trying each set separately and see how they each work different types of ads. Test everything, never leave things to assumptions.
After testing several campaigns with every type of ad set see what works and what doesn’t.
