The next tab we need to look at is the activity tab. The tab that has all of your followers, favorites, and tagged posts is boring. Obviously, if someone tags you, you should respond, but that is common sense. The second tab of the activity tab is way more interesting.
When you swipe right, to the “Following” section of the activity page. If you have built your business account by following the right kind of people then this will be an amazing resource for you.
In this section you will see what the people you follow are doing on Instagram, besides posting. You can see what kind of posts they are favoriting and what kind of accounts they are following. This will teach you so much about your audience and will help you get to new potential followers.
There tons of people on Instagram you will never find in search, and you would never know exist. But using this tool does a lot of the work for you. It is probably more useful for you than the discover and search section combine, since it has other people do the research for you. See the posts your customers are liking, and check out the hashtags they use.
There is so much to learn from the people and posts that your followers care about, because it will help you learn how to make your posts better.
There is one more section that we need to talk about. In each person’s profile there are four tabs. The fourth is the posts that this account have been tagged in. This is a list of posts that other people thought would be an interest to this account, or had the person in the post. Looking through this list can teach you about what others think this person is interested in, what the person has been doing, and where the person has been. Commenting a post in this section will not only send a notification to the person you want, but it will also get the attention of the account who tagged the other person. This means you are now reaching two potential customers with one post, which gives you more power from one post.
At this point we have discussed all of the pieces of Instagram that you NEED to know how to use. The rest of the tips will be in theory, what time to post, what to post, what to like, etc.
