Want to learn how to get lots of followers, high engagement, and sales from Cyber Dust? We will go through all the tips of creating a brand or persona on Cyber Dust so that you get people recommending you all the time, and you get potential customers for your business.
The first question we need to answer is how many people are actually using Cyber Dust as a social media platform? When the question came up a few months ago the only answer we were able to get was that CD has “millions” of users. This number is great, but how many of them use it is as a social platform as opposed to a SMS platform to talk to their list of already existing contacts? The answer is probably somewhere between 50k-100k. For ease will just say 75,000 active monthly blasters (people who blast and read content).
So, out of 75k people how many of them will care about your product or service? Well, that is very dependent on what product or service you are offering, so, you may want to consider if it is worth your time building contacts on a platform that may not be the right audience for you. Mark Cuban explains CD as Snapchat for adults. So if you’re selling a product that is geared towards people who are ~30+ and tech-savvy then you’re probably in the right place.
Now that you have decided that you want to be part of the Cyber Dust community it is time to make an account. When choosing a name for your account keep in mind that the first thing people will see about you is your username, so you want it to be something that is easy to read, and can easily be understood as a person or business name. If it is something weird then people may think twice before following you. One tip when creating a username, don’t have period in it. I know, I know, some of our favorite dusters, like +lee.springer has a period in his username, but for some reason there is a setting in CD that a string of characters with a period in them is a URL, so it will be harder for people to follow you. (BTW, if you want to follow people that have periods in their usernames try pressing the + as opposed to their actual username.
The other two things that you MUST do when setting up your account is:
- Write a bio
- Put up a profile picture
And optionally:
3) Put up a link to your website
Most likely, if you don’t at least put up a profile picture and write some kind of bio people will think you’re a crazy stalker and will not follow you, so make sure you have one. If you have had an account for a long time and never put up a bio and profile picture it isn’t too late, do it now.
I was going to write more, but I decided that every person having a bio and profile picture is so important for Cyber Dust that I will stop this tip here. If this convinces at least one of you to write some sort bio, even writing “I am not a creepy stalker” will be better than nothing, I will have made CD a better place.
