Now that I have convinced you to create a bio the next question we need to answer is what should be in the bio? After your username and profile picture the next thing that people will see of yours is your bio. In the new version of CD people are also be able to see up to your last ten public blasts as well, but you can’t always control when people will see your profile, so you can’t control which blasts they will see, but you can control what your bio will say.
So, what should your bio say? The first thing you need to ask yourself what words you notice when you read people’s bios. When I first joined CD I noticed that I was following profiles with words like CEO, entrepreneur, or business, so I put those words into my profile in hopes that I would attract the same audience as those people.
To figure out what you should write in your profile think of your favorite dusters who are going after the same audience as you. Read their profiles and see what you like, and what originally attracted you to them. Think about how you can give your own twist on it and make it your own, it is your bio after all.
There are those very creative dusters who change their bios on a regular basis to tell a story. A duster who I was very sad to see leave a few weeks ago used to change his bio almost every day. Changing up bio on a normal basis can be an excellent way to keep people guessing and coming back everyday to see what you changed it to. This can be a great way to storytell and get people to interact.
